Open the link and identify the product before considering the price. Compare the Item ID and the selected option with the information you saved. A familiar picture does not necessarily mean the default option is the one you wanted.
Retain the original product reference if you save a converted or shortened link. That gives you a way to recover the item if the intermediate address stops working. Keep private account or order links separate from public product links.
Before payment, check size, colour, quantity and included pieces in the order summary. If the destination cannot establish the product clearly, resolve the link problem rather than substituting another similar item without noticing.
